Those parameters change the underlying impulse response, which requires Voltaverb to internally rebuild its convolution engine. Voltaverb runs a second engine in parallel and hands the audio over with a smooth crossfade once the new tail is established, so the tail in flight carries through the change without an audible dropout.
Fast continuous sweeps settle a moment after the dial stops moving. The one deliberate exception is toggling Reverse: a forward tail can't continue into a reversed space, so the tail restarts on an orientation change.
Parameters that don't trigger an IR rebuild — Mix, Output, Pre-Delay, Width, EQ, Dynamics — automate cleanly under any condition.
